The mode of action is an acceleration of exfoliation or removal of the external dead layer of skin. Other aspirations for chemical peel include maintenance therapy to go hand in hand with routine daily home skin care treatments. Variable depth chemical peel treatments are available including light, medium, and deep depth. Superficial chemical peels are the most commonly utilized in our center (Light TCA, and Vitalize Peel). When a significant enhancement of skin rejuvenation is desired, then fractional CO2 laser treatment is recommended, and the chemical peel can then become a supplemental therapy provided intermittently weeks and months after the laser treatment to maintain the results of the laser.
